OpenStreetMap

www.openstreetmap.org provides one of the first decent maps of Bucharest. It's based on community work, just like Wikipedia and their progress is unbelievable. Two years ago Bucharest had just one street on the map and now it looks almost completely mapped.

If you're thinking of participating, Merkaartor is probably the best way to edit maps on Leopard. It's based on QT and a bit quirky but it's fast and very much usable.

libGMP

GMP is a free library for arbitrary precision arithmetic, operating on signed integers, rational numbers, and floating point numbers. There is no practical limit to the precision except the ones implied by the available memory in the machine GMP runs on. GMP has a rich set of functions, and the functions have a regular interface.
